Instructions
Let’s see the steps to make chocolate pancakes recipe.
Step 1
Mix the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl using a mesh strainer (or whisk well using a whisk). Place aside.
Step 2
Combine the egg and sugar in a medium bowl by whisking them together thoroughly. Add vanilla essence, oil or melted butter, and milk. Using a whisk or rubber spatula, combine the wet ingredients with the dry mixture and stir until mixed.
Avoid over-mixing. Add chocolate chunks or chips and stir. Put aside the batter while you prepare the chocolate sauce.
Step 3
Mix the heavy cream and chocolate to make the chocolate sauce in a medium heat-proof bowl. Microwave in 20 to 30-second increments, stirring after each, until the chocolate melts and the mixture becomes smooth.
You may also make a double boiler by placing a stainless steel pot over boiling water in a saucepan. Set aside while you prepare the pancakes. I prefer to warm it up and then spread it over the pancakes.
Step 4
To prepare the pancakes, preheat a skillet or grill over moderate heat. Cover the skillet with oil or melted butter. Pour 1/4 mug of batter over the skillet per pancake. Cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles develop on the pancakes’ surface and the bottom seems cooked through.
Flip the pancakes gently, then cook for another 1–2 minutes. To keep warm, transfer to a platter and, if you’d like, lightly cover with aluminum foil. To prevent sticking, brush the skillet with oil or butter before cooking each batch of pancakes. Your chocolate pancakes are ready. Serve with chocolate sauce right away.
